At the Regular Meeting of the St. Croix County Board on Sept 05, 2017, Supervisor Agnes Ring announced her resignation from the Board.  During the Announcements portion of the meeting, she made the announcement, and explained that she could not complete her term after taking a position at the non-profit Family Resource Center of St. Croix Valley, citing potential conflicts of interest.

According to the Family Resource Center web site, the organization was founded in 1998,  is a nonprofit organization that offers free parent education and family support to families in Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix counties. Their mission is to strengthen children, families, and communities by offering education, resources, and support. All programs are free and available to any family that seeks them.

Agnes received a standing ovation from the other board members in appreciation of her service.

The Board will post notice of the vacancy, and Board Chair, Roger Larson will interview candidates and make a recommendation to the Full Board to appoint a replacement to fill the vacancy until the Spring 2018 election.   The appointment will likely occur at the October regular meeting of the County Board.
