Apparently Hand Picked Candidate Installed into Open District 2 Board Seat

In a stunning display of its disregard for its own rules, the County Board confirmed candidate Chris Matter to the District 2 Supervisor seat vacated in September by former Supervisor Agnes Ring. Ms. Matter was not one of the candidates Board Chairman Roger Larson had previously advanced to the Board for consideration at the October regular meeting. Board Suspends the Rules to Hear From More District 2 Candidates

One of the main agenda items for the October 3rd regular meeting of the St. Croix County Board was to review and vote on appointments made by Board Chairman Roger Larson to fill the District 2 vacancy left by former Supervisor Agnes Ring. District 2 Supervisor Resigns From County Board

At the Regular Meeting of the St. Croix County Board on Sept 05, 2017, Supervisor Agnes Ring announced her resignation from the Board.  During the Announcements portion of the meeting, she made the announcement, and explained that she could not complete her term after taking a position at the non-profit Family Resource Center of St. Croix Valley, citing potential conflicts of interest. Second Board Seat Vacant After Kiesler Resignation

On Friday, June 16th, Supervisor Ron Kiesler of District 13 (City of New Richmond) tendered his resignation from the St. Croix County Board, effective immediately.   Mr. Kiesler is moving out of the district which he has represented on the County Board since being elected in 2012. Appointment Denied for Vacant District 7 Board Seat

The appointment of Hudson attorney Sarah Yacoub to the vacant seat on the County Board failed to pass a confirmation vote of the full Board at the June 6th Regular Meeting.  Ms. Yacoub was the only candidate under consideration for the appointment following Ms. Tammy Moothedan’s last minute withdrawal from consideration.
